Cuban outfielder who debuted with the Texas Rangers in 2011.
He played for Cuba's national baseball team in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
He defected from Cuba when he was in Taiwan for the 2010 World University Baseball Championship.
His father worked as a foreman, and his mother raised him and his four siblings.
He made his major league debut in 2011 when All-Star outfielder Nelson Cruz went on the disabled list.
