South African actress and television presenter who has gained recognition for her portrayal of Katlego in the SABC1 drama series Home Affairs. In 2011, she played the role of Princess in the SABC2 sitcom Home Sweet Home. Her popular lerato_mvelase Instagram account has amassed 600,000 followers.

Having performed in various theatre productions throughout her schooling, she followed her passion for performance and pursued a career in drama, singing, and performing. In 2002, she graduated with a degree in drama from Wits University, and in that same year, she made her breakthrough into the mainstream as a presenter on CCM1.

She is fluent in English, South Sotho, Tswana, Zulu, and Xhosa. She is also skilled in accents and can speak in American, English, and Cockney accents.

She was born in Soweto.

Apart from her on-screen performances, she has also appeared in various theatre productions, one of which includes William Shakespeare 's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
