ABOUT LESTER DELREY
An American science fiction author and editor, he is most famous for his Winston Science Fiction series. The first novel in the series, Marooned on Mars, was published in 1952.
He worked as a short order cook at the White Tower Restaurant in New York.
He was awarded the 1972 E. E. Smith Memorial Award for Imaginative Fiction by the New England Science Fiction Association.
He married Helen Schlaz in 1945.
He was a member of an all-male literary banqueting club, the Trap Door Spiders, which was the basis for Isaac Asimov 's fictional group of mystery solvers.
