Born Roberto Flores, he is a Mexican rapper and actor, known for such singles as 'Summer Nights' and 'Bring Out the Freak in You.' He released his ninth studio album, Love & Hate, in 2009.

He was raised in a Mexican neighborhood near Solana Beach, California and began rapping publicly in 1990.

He has the numbers '12' and '18' tattooed on his forearms, which represent the letters 'L' and R' from his stage name.

He married Desiree Owens.

He had a small role in the film Dirty, starring Cuba Gooding Jr .
