She worked as a drama teacher and director at Chelmsford and Lexington, Massachusetts schools.
She won both an Anthony Award and an Edgar Award.
She was born in Michigan. With her husband, she had one son.
She won the Edgar Award, an honor named for classic horror writer Edgar Allan Poe .
