Known for her novel The Art of Being Normal. The book was first published as a softcover novel on January 1, 2015, with the hardcover version being published on January 1, 2016.

She attended drama school with the intention of being a full-time actress. She has acted in various stage plays and TV commercials under the stage name Lisa Cassidy.

She received various accolades for her novel The Art of Being Normal, including being shortlisted for the prestigious Carnegie Medal, in 2016. She was also shortlisted for the Waterstones Childrens Book prize the same year.

She was born and raised in Nottingham, England.

She has listed Judy Blume as one of her favorite authors, and as a writing inspiration.
