ABOUT LITTLE ROY

Jamaican reggaee singer famous for his songs "Cool It" and "Bongo Nyah". He is considered one of the founders of the roots reggae movement. His first number one hit was "Bongo Nyah", which was recorded while he was 16.

He began his music career at the age of 12 by releasing multiple singles which unfortunately were not deemed successful.

He was dubbed Little Roy at 13 by a more established reggae artist. He was the first artist to use the word reggae in a song. Steely & Clevie used the rhythm section parts to "Prophecy" in a track released in 1990, which became a hit for Freddie McGregor .

He is the youngest of nine siblings.

Dennis Brown played bass on his song "Tribal War".
