ABOUT LIU YE
Chinese actor known for his roles in both film and television. He is recognized for his award-winning performances in Lan Yu, The Foliage, and Purple Butterfly.
He studied performing arts at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing. He made his acting debut in 1999 when he starred in the film Postmen in the Mountains. He then went on to star in television in 2000 when he appeared in Happy Street as the character Xu Xiaoyang.
He is known for having won the Best Actor award at the Golden Hore Awards in 2001 for his role in the film Lan Yu.
He married French photographer Anais Martane in Beijing in 2009 and together they have a son and a daughter.
He appeared alongside the singer Jay Chou in the 2006 feature film Curse of the Golden Flower.
