Former Swartzentruber Amish women who achieved recognition for sharing her story after having fled her strict Iowa community at the age of 18 with only $24 to her name. She has since gone on to educate her massive audience of over 3.2 million followers on her literallyjust_a_girl TikTok account through cooking tutorials, cultural explanations, and Q&A videos.
She was born within a family of thirteen children in a conservative Amish sect and had no introduction to technology or the English language until her escape. After her father forbade her from teaching - a job she adored - she made the decision to leave in the middle of the night.
She authored a digital Amish cookbook that includes over 150 recipes.
She married fellow former Amish community member Eli in August 2024. She was the second-born of her parents' thirteen children.
In June 2025, she shared a TikTok video that featured the song "I've Got a Story" by Needtobreathe and Tori Kelly .
