Blogger and author known for her Life of Mom blog, which is about her experiences as a mother. She wrote Mom vs Dad: The Not-So-Serious Guide to the Stuff We're All Fighting About. The book was co-written with her husband, Tom Riles. She and her black Labrador Duchess appeared on the Amazon Prime series The Pack.

In 2010, her first child was born with a serious heart condition. The baby required life-saving open heart surgery at three days old.

In 2016, she started the Life of Mom blog as a "virtual village" for mothers. Her intention was to help moms feel less isolated and not judged. She also wrote From Belly to Baby: A Journal for Pregnancy and Baby's First Year.

She and her husband have four children. She had a stillborn son. She was the youngest of 12 children from the South Side of Chicago.

She and Constance Hall are both famous bloggers who write about motherhood.
