He grew up with a passion for music and began going by the pseudonym Machinedrum in high school. He graduated from Full Sail University in Florida with a degree in audio engineering.

He has performed at a multitude of venues around the world, including the Sydney Opera House, the Nokia Theater in New York City, the South by Southwest music festival, and more. He updates fans about upcoming shows and music releases on his Machine_Drum Twitter account.

He was born Travis Stewart in Eden, North Carolina. His parents, grandparents, and cousin were heavily involved in sparking his interest in music, by providing him his first instruments, allowing him to record songs at their home, and introducing him to a variety of musical genres. He has a daughter named Billie Josephine, who was born in 2021.

He produced numerous tracks for rapper Azealia Banks . He has also collaborated with artists such as rapper Theophilus London , R&B singer Jesse Boykins III , and rapper Mickey Factz .
