ABOUT MACKENZIE GORE

Former top prospect that was drafted by the San Diego Padres with the third overall pick of the 2017 Major League Draft. In 2020, he was named the best pitching prospect in the entire minor leagues. He was later acquired by the Washington Nationals via trade in August 2022.

He was originally drafted out of Whiteville High School in Whiteville, North Carolina. A few weeks later, he began his professional career playing for the AZL Padres.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the Atlanta Braves on April 15, 2022 as a member of the Padres. He pitched just over five innings and recorded three strikeouts.

He is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina. His parents are Selena and Evan Gore. He has a sister named Meredith.

He was once packaged in a trade that included Juan Soto and CJ Abrams .
