Right back commonly known as simply Maicon, who joined the Brazilian national soccer team in 2003 and was named to the 2010 FIFA World Cup All-Star Team.
He played youth soccer for Gremio.
He made his professional debut in 2001 with Cruzeiro.
He was born in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil.
Striker Ronaldo was his teammate on the Brazilian national team.
