Senegalese musician who won the Boston Music Award for International Artist of the Year in 2011.
He became known for his West African rhythm guitar.
He formed the group MAMADOU after moving to the United States, and contributes to the work of many other established artists.
He was born in Guinguineo, Senegal.
He has performed alongside musician Baaba Maal .
