ABOUT MANUEL PANGILINAN

Known for heading the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, and the Filipino TV5 network, this prominent businessman also presided over Philex Mining and Smart Communications, among other companies.

After earning an economics degree from Ateneo de Manila University, he received his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's famous Wharton School of Business.

He received widespread attention for creating a personal Twitter account in late 2012.

He was born and raised in Manila, Philippines.

He met with retired American professional basketball player Chris Webber to negotiate an investment deal regarding the NBA team the Sacramento Kings.
