ABOUT MANUEL DE JESUS RODRíGUEZ

Professional reliever that was first signed by the Washington Nationals as an international free agent in 2016. He'd later be signed to the MLB and make his debut with the Chicago Cubs in 2021. Prior to signing with the Nationals, he played professionally in the Mexican league as a member of the Leones de Yucatán baseball team. In 2015, he was named the Mexican League Rookie of the Year.

He played with the Leones de Yucatán baseball team for three seasons. He later began his baseball career in the US playing for the Eugene Emeralds.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the Washington Nationals on July 30, 2021. He recorded two strikeouts in only one inning pitched.

He grew up living with his family in Merida, Mexico.

He played alongside Juan Soto during his MLB debut.
