Socialist politician who became the Prime Minister of France in 2014 after previously serving as the Minister of the Interior.

He joined the French Socialist Party in 1980 and studied history at the University of Paris.

He served as the Mayor of Evry from 2001 to 2012.

His father was Spanish and his mother was Swiss.

He succeeded Francois Hollande as the the Prime Minister of France.
