ABOUT MARC BOLAN

Founder of the glam rock group Tyrannosaurus Rex who had a crossover hit in the U.S. called "Bang a Gong(Get It On)." He also released and published his first and only book of poetry entitled, "The Warlock of Love" in 1969.

At age nine he got a guitar; he later got kicked out of school when he was fourteen. He had started as an acoustic singer-writer before pursuing the electric genre.

A car accident ended his life when he was twenty-nine years old. Although his life ended early, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020. His song "Cat Back" has garnered over 2 million streams on Spotify.

His mother Phyllis Winifred was Christian, and his father Simeon Feld was Jewish.

At the height of his success, T. Rex had sold more albums than Jimi Hendrix .
