He started his own design firm with Paul Margolin. His couture has appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Instyle, Vanity Fair, and Glamour.
He was a child actor. He did national service in South Africa.
He earned the South African Vogue Young Designer Award. He worked with famed designer Roy Halston Frowick and learned techniques including draping.
He married photographer Pedro Oberto.
