María Duzán
ABOUT MARíA DUZáN
Colombian journalist and political scientist who is known for her work with several media outlets throughout Colombia including El Espectador, El Tiempo, and Semana Magazine. She is also known for her 2010 book My Trip to Hell which documents the murder of her sister during the slaughter of Cimitarra.
Her writing career started at the age of 16 when she had a letter published in El Espectador. She went on to study political science at the Universidad de los Andes and in Paris.
He is also known for his work leading and directing the political debate program Week Live for the Cablenoticias network.
She was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and married musician Oscar Acevedo. Together they have two children.
Her tutor and fellow reporter Guillermo Cano was killed by hired assassins of Pablo Escobar in 1986 due to the opinions she expressed in the El Espectador newspaper.
