She moved to Vienna when she was 2.

She was arrested and beheaded by the Nazi regime after she refused to take down the crucifixes from the walls of the hospital she worked at.

Her father was a shoemaker in the former Austro-Hungarian empire.

She was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1998.
