She ran a successful quilt mail-order business for decades. After her death, her house was designated a National Historic Landmark.
She grew up in Indiana and learned the art of sewing from her mother.
Faith Ringgold was born around the time that Webster retired from quilting and was influenced by Webster's quilting methods.
