ABOUT MARJORIE W. SHARMAT
American children's author best known for her series Nate the Great, about a child detective. As of 2014, she had written over 130 children's books.
Her first book published was Goodnight, Andrew; Goodnight Craig in 1969.
The film adaptation of her book Nate the Great Goes Undercover won the Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival Award.
She was born in Portland, Maine and raised alongside her sister Rosalind. She was married to Mitchell Sharmat.
She was a contemporary of Russell Hoban , and his wife illustrated one of her books.
