Mark Bradford
ABOUT MARK BRADFORD
Artist best known for his collaged paintings. He makes grid-like, abstract paintings out of layers of paper and cords, which he tears, glues and does a variety of other things to.
He obtained two degrees from the California Institute of the Arts in 1995 and 1997.
Two of his well-known paintings are "Scorched Earth" and "Black Wall Street" and were both made in 2006.
His mother ran a beauty salon in Leimert Park when he was young.
In 2012, he narrated the soundtrack to a dance duet choreographed by Benjamin Millepied .
