ABOUT MARQUIS CHILDS
Pulitzer Prize winning American journalist and novelist known for his work with the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch. He won the award for Commentary in 1969.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1923.
He was the first journalist to win the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary.
He had two children with his first wife Lue Prentiss, whom he married in 1926.
He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1970, seven years before George F. Will did.
