Broadway actor who received a 1961 Tony Award for his supporting role in Big Fish, Little Fish. He also famously narrated a 1945 CBS Radio program that celebrated the Allied victory in World War II.
He appeared in the Broadway productions of The Rivalry and Baker Street.
He joined Orson Welles ' Mercury Theatre, appearing in a 1937 production of Julius Caesar.
His wife, Arlene Francis , hosted a daily interview show that aired for over twenty years on New York's WOR station.
He was a frequent guest and his wife a regular panelist on "What's My Line?," a television show hosted by Larry Blyden .
