ABOUT MARTTI VAINIO
Finnish long distance runner who had to forfeit his Olympic medal after testing positive for steroids in 1984.
He won his first gold medal for the 10,000 meter race at the 1978 European Championships.
He ran below the 29-minute barrier in 68 out of his 80 10,000 meter races.
He has two children, Mika and Minna, with his wife Eila.
He competed in the 1984 Olympics where runner Carl Lewis made his first Olympic appearance.
