ABOUT MASON MONTGOMERY

Southpaw reliever that was taken as a sixth rounder in the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays . Prior to being drafted, he attended Texas Tech University . He played college baseball at Texas Tech from 2019 until 2021.

He is a graduate of Leander Public High School. As a senior, he was considered the ninth best prospect in the state of Texas.

On September 24, 2024 he became the 16th player in major league history to pitch two innings and strike out all six batters. In the process of doing so, he became the first player in Rays history to achieve this feat.

Growing up, he lived with his parents and his brother, Jake. He now lives along with his fiancée, Madison.

He is a former Texas Tech collegiate athlete just like Patrick Mahomes .
