Matt Canterino
ABOUT MATT CANTERINO
Right-handed pitcher that was drafted by the Minnesota Twins during the second round of the 2019 Major League Draft. A few years later, he was named the ninth best MLB prospect in the Twins' organization. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at Rice University.
He is a graduate of Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas. During his senior year, he was named the Texas District 7-6A Pitcher of the Year.
As a junior at Rice, he maintained a 3.97 GPA while majoring in mechanical engineering. He was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team in 2019 and he was even named Conference USA Pitcher of the Year.
He grew up living with his family in Southlake, Texas. He is one of two brothers.
He was selected during the 2019 MLB Draft just like Corbin Carroll and Alek Manoah .
