ABOUT MATT O'CONNOR
Professional hockey goaltender who made his NHL debut in October 2015 as a member of the Ottawa Senators. He continued the 2015-2016 season as a member of the team's minor league affiliate, the Birmingham Senators.
After playing for 2 years in the United States Hockey League, he was awarded a full scholarship to play for Boston University. He played for the team for 3 years, from 2012 to 2015.
His NHL debut resulted in a 3-1 loss against the Montreal Canadiens. He made 31 saves while facing a fellow rookie goalie, Mike Condon , on the Canadiens.
He was born and raised in Needham, Massachusetts.
Curtis Lazar assisted on the only goal the Senators scored in his professional debut loss.
