ABOUT MATTHEW DEAN BURDETTE

American rapper and producer, known professionally as Blxst, who rose to fame for his 2020 single "Chosen." His musical style has been compared to Nate Dogg and Ty Dolla Sign . He released his first full-length album, Before You Go, in April of 2022.

He started rapping and producing shortly after finishing high school.

In 2015, he formed the record label Evgle, which later partnered with Red Bull Records for the release of his debut EP, No Love Lost. He followed it up with another EP the following year.

He grew up in South Central Los Angeles. In an interview he mentioned his mom would buy him tamales every morning before school.

He collaborated with Fireboy DML and 21 Savage on the 2022 single "Peru."
