ABOUT MEENA KANDASAMY
Indian poet and translator known for her anti-caste and feminist writings, some of which have been collected in the anthologies Touch and Ms. Militancy.
She has a Ph.D from Anna University. She started writing poetry when she was 17-years-old.
She's translated several works from regional Indian languages into English. She appeared in the film Oraalppokkam.
She was born to two college professors. Her given name is Illavenil.
She and Lalitha Lenin both became known for their poetry.
