ABOUT MERSAD BERBER
Bosnian graphic artist whose work was featured in the Tate Gallery in 1984. He combined ancient motifs within a modern context, and his output spanned painting, tapestry, illustrations, poetic and graphic art, scenography, and costume design.
He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana and taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.
He produced artwork in cycles, with each cycle reflecting a different period in Bosnian-Herzegovinian history.
He was born and raised in Bosanski Petrovac, which was then part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
He was a contemporary of the Swiss surrealist artist H.R. Giger .
