ABOUT MEYER LEVIN
A Jewish-American novelist, he is particularly known for works inspired by the Anne Frank story and the Leopold and Loeb case. His notable works include The New Bridge and The Old Bunch.
He studied at the University of Chicago. He published his first novel, The Reporter, in 1929.
For his novel, Compulsion, he received a Special Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America association.
He married Tereska Swarc in 1948; they had three sons and one daughter.
He was one of the first people to know of the existence of Anne Frank 's Diary.
