ABOUT MICHAEL DOUGHERTY

Screenwriter most remembered for co-writing superhero thrillers like Superman Returns and X2. In 2019, he directed the hit film Godzilla: King of the Monsters . He also co-wrote the screenplay.

He attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU prior to getting his start in the film industry.

He made his feature film directorial debut with 2007's Trick 'r Treat. He has amassed 15 on-screen writing credits throughout his career. He also provided the plots to four comic book prequels to Superman Returns.

His mother was Vietnamese.

Actor Hugh Jackman played Wolverine in his hit film, X2.
