Played the role of Daniel Jackson in the sci-fi series, Stargate: SG-1 and had a recurring role in the second season of Burn Notice.

He gained a 2-year apprenticeship with the prestigious Stratford Festival after graduating from college.

He needed an emergency appendectomy just before the start of filming of an episode of a television series and the script was re-written to have his character recovering from an appendectomy as well.

He had a daughter in 1998 from then-girlfriend, Vaitiare Bandera. In 2003 he married Lexa Doig and together they had two children.

He played Father Auguste in Red Riding Hood , with Billy Burke .
