ABOUT MIKE PIAZZA

12-time MLB All-Star and Hall of Famer who set the record for most career home runs hit by a catcher with 396. He retired with a total of 427 home runs between his time as a catcher and in other positions. He is best remembered for his time with the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.

His father was friends with Tommy Lasorda and Mike became a batboy for the Dodgers.

He helped lead the New York Mets to the World Series in 2000 where they lost to their in-state rivals, the Yankees.

He grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania with four brothers.

He played alongside Al Leiter on the 2000 New York Mets.
