Digital creator, writer, producer and performer best known as host of the PBS web series Idea Channel. His videos tackled questions such as "Does playing Dungeons and Dragons make you a more successful person?" and "What are the similarities between Santa Claus and professional wrestling?" He wrote, hosted and produced the original Know Your Meme series.

He graduated from Bennington College in Vermont. He earned a degree in music, composition and computer science.

He worked as a professional theater artist, making multimedia performance art. He has also worked as an art gallery assistant. He created the Crash Course Mythology YouTube series. He has over 10,000 subscribers on his personal YouTube channel.

In 2017, he married YouTuber Molly Templeton . He has Italian heritage. He adopted a dog named Jules.

He once fixed Claire Danes ' computer.
