ABOUT MIKE THALER
Children's author and illustrator with more than 200 books to his name who would earn the nicknames of America's Riddle King and The Court Jester of Children's Literature.
He used to draw cartoons for adults. After a children's book editor discovered one his cartoons in a national magazine, he encouraged Thaler to try out writing books for children.
He created "The Letterman" for the PBS Electric Company series The Adventures of Letterman.
He was born in Los Angeles, California, and would later reside in West Linn, Oregon with his wife Patty.
Joan Rivers was the narrator for each segment of The Adventures of Letterman.
