Known as "Sugar Bear," he is the father of Honey Boo Boo , he has starred on TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo with his daughter and his wife.

He was sentenced to five years in prison for robbery in 1998.

He became known for his country attitude and comfort with animals.

He began dating June Shannon in May 2004; the couple had their daughter Alana , AKA Honey Boo Boo, the following year. He and June separated in 2014. In 2017, he married Jennifer Lamb . They divorced in 2022.
