American author and diversity consultant who writes about intersectionality, policing, gender and current events. Her work has been featured by numerous publications including The Guardian, The Washington Post, Ebony and Time.

She studied publishing at DePaul University and history at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

She authored the 2019 book Amazons, Abolitionists, and Activists: A Graphic History of Women's Fight for Their Rights.

She posted a picture of her son on Instagram in June 2018.
