ABOUT MINDY KALING
Actress who played Kelly Kapoor on the hit sitcom The Office before starring in her own television show, The Mindy Project . She also voices characters in the films Despicable Me , Wreck-It Ralph and Inside Out .
Born Mindy Chokalingam, she joined an improvisational comedy troupe called The Dog Day Players while attending Dartmouth College .
In the 2011 film No Strings Attached , she played the roommate of Natalie Portman 's character.
Her parents named her after the TV show Mork & Mindy. She welcomed a daughter named Katherine in December 2017. Her son Spencer was born on September 3, 2020. They welcomed another daughter, Anne, in February 2024.
She co-starred on her own comedy on Fox called The Mindy Project alongside Chris Messina .
