Former American boxer nicknamed "Blood," best remembered for a 1988 street fight with Mike Tyson.
He won the New York Golden Gloves amateur tournament four times: 1976, 1977, 1979, and 1980.
During his career he received a career high #7 ranking by the World Boxing Council and was also placed in the top ten by the World Boxing Association.
He was born in Augusta, Georgia.
He lost to Mike Tyson via unanimous decision on May 20, 1986, then two years later the two began a confrontation at Dapper Dan's in Harlem, which became known as the 1988 street fight.
