ABOUT MIYA TACHIBANA
Japanese synchronized swimmer and five-time Olympic medalist, winning four silvers and one bronze over three Olympics.
She began practicing synchronized swimming in elementary school.
She won a total of 4 silver medals at the 2000 and 2004 Olympics.
Her father Mitsuo Tachibana also swam competitively.
She competed in the 2004 Olympics where swimmer Michael Phelps won an amazing six gold medals.
