ABOUT MOHAMMAD SHAHZAD
Cricket wicket-keeper who has gained fame for representing Afghanistan internationally, including at the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. He finished 2016 as the #8 ranked batsman in the ICC Twenty20 player rankings.
He first joined Afghanistan's national cricket team for the 2009 Cricket World Cup Qualifying tournament.
He was named the ICC affiliate and associate player of the year in 2016. He played domestic cricket with the Paktia Panthers of the Twenty20 Afghanistan Premier League in 2018.
While originally born in Jalalabad, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, he grew up with his family in a refugee camp within Peshawar, Pakistan.
He and Mohammad Nabi played as teammates for Afghanistan's national cricket squad at the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.
