ABOUT MONTY WILLIAMS

Former NBA forward who served as head coach of the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans from 2010 to 2015. He became head coach of the Phoenix Suns in 2019 and he was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2021-22 after leading the Suns to a 64-18 season. He later became the coach of the Detroit Pistons .

He served as an assistant coach on the Portland Trail Blazers from 2005 to 2010.

He played for 5 different teams in his 9-year NBA career.

He was married to Ingrid Montgomery from 1995 until her death in 2016.

He coached center Anthony Davis on the Hornets and Pelicans from 2012 to 2015.
