ABOUT MORRIS GLEITZMAN

An author of children's and young-adult fiction, he is especially known for his Toad series (which features such titles as Toad Away, Toad Heaven, Toad Rage, and Toad Surprise). His other works include Misery Guts and Blabber Mouth.

His early work, Two Weeks with the Queen (1989), informed people about AIDS and drummed up a great deal of controversy upon its publication.

He co-wrote Wicked! in 1998 and Deadly in 2001 with fellow author Paul Jennings.

His family lived in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, England, at the time of his birth. He later relocated to Australia. He was married to Mary-Anne Fahey from 1994 to 2011.

He and Jacqueline Wilson were contemporaries.
