Murat Yakin
ABOUT MURAT YAKIN
Former center-back, soccer player, and athlete that played soccer professionally for 14 years until retiring in the year 2006. He was also a member of the Swiss men's national team during his professional playing career. He stands an even six feet tall.
He first began his soccer career with Grasshopper Club Zürich in the year 1992. He was just 18 years old at the time.
As a member of FC Basel, he won three Swiss Super League titles. He was also named Axpo Swiss Super Leaguer Player of the Year in the year 2002. Shortly after retiring, he then began his coaching career in the year 2006.
Growing up, he lived with his family in Basel, Switzerland. He is of Turkish descent.
He has coached Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri during his international career with Sweden.
