ABOUT NEVIN BIRSA
Prolific Slovene poet whose works include Rihemberk, Zivali in roze, and other collections. His poetic work was championed by author Ciril Zlobec.
He studied at the University of Ljubljana. He published his debut poetic work, Elektronke voce, in 1970.
He published sixteen collections of poetry during his lifetime. A seventeenth volume was published posthumously in 2004.
He was born in the Vipava Valley of western Slovenia and lived in his hometown for the majority of his life.
He was influenced by the work of Rainer Maria Rilke .
