ABOUT NICK KURTZ

Former first rounder that was drafted by the Oakland Athletics with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at Wake Forest University . While at Wake Forest, he was once named an NCAA All-American and he earned first team All-ACC honors twice.

He was a two-sport athlete while at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In addition to baseball, he also played basketball in high school.

During his final season at Wake Forest, he collected a program record of 78 walks. He eventually finished his collegiate career as Wake Forest's all-time leader walks with 189 despite being only a junior.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He is one of four siblings.
